Quick Start: running MyIVO for the first time
- Three ways to Launch MyIVO
- After you successfully installed MyIVO, the installation process
will launch MyIVO Server automatically.
- When your computer is restarted, MyIVO Server will start by default.
- Go to "start" -> "All Programs" -> "MyIVO" -> "MyIVO Server" to start
MyIVO manually.
- Sign on
When MyIVO Server runs for the first time, you will be prompted with a "MyIVO
Sign On" dialog.
- Select
to create an account.
- Enter "Email/Password": the email/password you registered at www.myivo.com
then select "Sign On".
- Connected
Upon successful signed on, a blue
icon will be added to the system tray area. This indicates that the MyIVO
Server is successfully connected to the MyIVO service (and is ready for
access from remote).
- Set Access Code
You will be prompted to set access code for this computer. This is to enforce
additional level of security. When you try to access this computer from
remote, you will need to provide this access code in addition to the user
password. The access code is encrypted and stored only locally on this computer
to ensure security.
- Not Connected
A black icon
indicates that the IVO server is not connected to the IVO service. This
may be caused by either a failed network connection or unsuccessful user
authentication. IVO server may automatically retry connecting to the IVO
service when the network connection has returned. Or, in the case of failed
user authentication, the user may reauthenticate. Upon successful signed
on (or repaired network connections), a blue
icon will be displayed in the system tray area. This indicates that the
MyIVO Server is successfully connected to the MyIVO service (and is ready
for access from remote).
- Access Your Computer Remotely
- Go to another computer. On the Web browser, enter the URL: www.myivo.com.
Sign on and go to "My Computers". You will see the
server computer's name. Click on the computer's name to connect. Upon
successful connection, you will see the server computer's screen in
the browser.
- On the server computer, the "MyIVO" icon in the system tray area
will turn red
.
It indicates that there is a remote computer connected to the server.
When the remote computer is disconnected from the server, the "MyIVO"
icon will return to blue color.
